What is the Opportunity?

As part of the Group Risk Management team (GRM), the Associate Director, Regulatory, Governance & Issues Management will act as a central point to achieve common outputs for ORSS and GRM OR driven by work orders. The ideal candidate will develop forward looking plans to manage annual and ad hoc regulatory and/or agency requests for which GRM OR is accountable including identification of stakeholder

What will you do?

Responsibilities as assigned that may include some or all of the following:

Regulatory Process Execution

  • Project manage regulatory requests through:
  • The development of forward looking plans to manage annual and ad hoc regulatory and/or agency requests for which ERR is accountable including identification of stakeholders
  • Coordinate responses across ERR and business/functions.
  • Create, coordinate and maintain documentation ensuring appropriate documentation is provided to satisfy regulatory requests.
  • Ensure consistency in response and messaging including validation with management.
  • Works with and oversights with the PM (as required) on the post exam process to ensure execution of action plans to remediate MRA/issues.
  • Responsible to ensure appropriate engagement of appropriate stakeholders and owners to fully remediate MRAs/issues.

Reporting and Other Activities

  • Support internal processes as necessary including the production of the team's reports.
  • Support the execution of short and long range projects affecting GRM OR or individual teams.

Relationship Management:

  • Develop relationships and networks within GRM OR and RBC to influence and impact processes to the benefit of RBC.
  • Act as first point of contact as required liaising and coordinating with other GRM OR groups as appropriate.

Must Have:

  • Business (B. Comm, MBA, CFA)
  • Project management experience
  • Experience working in a technology function
  • Maturity level and skill/judgment to be able to deal effectively with senior levels within RBC, operational risk groups throughout the organization
  • Excellent presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Good impact and influence skills
  • Strong problem solving, analytical (including qualitative analysis), research, and quantitative skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Ability to assimilate and interpret information covering a wide range of differing business areas.
