You will be joining the Wholesale Platform Finance team, which is responsible for our global financial close process and establishes the overall control framework for Capital Markets.

The Associate Director, Wholesale Platform Financial Control is a key partner in leading the strategic financial reporting and control framework for Wholesale Finance, and will be responsible for leading a team of professionals to coordinate and provide guidance across Capital Markets' Global Finance teams (across US, UK, and APAC). You will lead core automation and efficiency initiatives impacting our global financial reporting and control framework. In addition, this role will have the opportunity to partner with multiple functional stakeholders and senior management across Finance, and have exposure across different business lines.

What will you do?

  • Effectively manage and develop a team of 2-3 direct reports maintaining a high performing team.
  • Lead transformational data strategy and automation projects and actively identify opportunities where best practices can be leveraged across the regions.
  • Drive change and add value through continually evolving current processes and analysis, in light of changing business needs and reporting requirements.
  • Manage the accurate and timely execution of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, with oversight on consolidated Capital Markets disclosures and results.
  • Build effective working relationships across the global finance teams, head office, APG, and other key finance stakeholders to improve sharing of business and financial information.
  • Simplify and improve the design and execution of existing controls to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
  • Support and work with external auditors in their annual audit and audit-related requests.
  • Maintain a high standard of partner service quality by taking ownership and accountability of incoming requests, and proactively respond to ad-hoc inquiries and requests for financial information and analysis by senior management or other business partners.

Must-have

  • Professional designation
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of financial reporting under IFRS accounting standards and internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills - ability to work with people at all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and acute attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, collaborative, and self-starter attitude.
  • Ability to manage numerous priorities simultaneously amidst tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Access Database; EPM system knowledge also preferred.
