Purpose:


Prime Services Capital Introduction works with Canadian and global fund managers to support their asset growth. The team:

  • Helps our prime brokerage clients to raise their profile and attract capital with investor events and making appropriate introductions to Canadian institutions, family offices, and HNW retail advisors;
  • Delivers top-tier customer service and communication by providing valuable industry and investor intelligence to assist clients in developing capital-raising and marketing plans;
  • Integrates with GBM and Wealth Management to identify opportunities for collaboration and cross-selling;
  • Develops and maintains trusted relationships with a broad range of Canadian allocators including institutional investors, pensions, endowments, retail financial advisors and family offices.


As a key member of the Capital Introductions team, this position reports to the Director, Prime Services Capital Introduction (Canada).


The candidate is responsible for supporting the asset growth of our highest-value hedge fund and alternative mutual fund clients, as well as understanding client needs to provide effective investor introductions. The candidate is expected to identify new investor relationships in retail and institutional channels and to strengthen existing institutional investor relationships in Canada.


What You'll Do:

  • Maintain Capital Introduction plans for priority clients
  • Profile hedge and alternative mutual fund managers to new and existing investor relationships in Canada
  • Assist with the execution of Capital Introduction events featuring PMs at our top clients
  • Helping global and Canadian managers with investor roadshows and one-off meetings
  • Partner with Prime Services Canadian and Global sales teams to ensure Capital Introduction efforts are aligned with business objectives
  • Maintain up-to-date records of investor and client meetings and discussions
  • Manage our email marketing tool, iTRAC, and use it to track analytics on events, investors and clients
  • Provide regular updates to broad Prime Services management and team, including tracking reports
  • Monitor industry and investor trends to identify evolving themes and issues
  • Know and follow Capital Introduction compliance regulations and procedures
  • Contribute to thought leadership publications and events


What You'll Bring:

  • Existing hedge fund and investor relationships are an asset
  • Understanding of investment allocation and portfolio construction process
  • Understanding of hedge fund strategies and risk
  • Strategy, marketing and/or communications experience is an asset
  • Interest in the hedge fund industry and asset allocation
  • Presentation experience is an asset
  • Event planning experience is an asset
  • Educational Requirements - undergraduate degree, or higher
  • Canadian licensing and registration are an asset (CSC, CPH, DLC)
  • Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst or Chartered Investment Manager designations are an asset
  • Investment industry experience, including hedge fund and alternative mutual fund knowledge. Pre-existing investor and hedge fund relationships are an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills. Requires the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with managers and investors.
  • A client-centric approach with the ability to identify and understand client requirements and to work with internal groups to deliver effective client solutions
  • Experience managing projects and integrating across Scotiabank platforms
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate investor and client feedback to internal and external stakeholders
  • Database marketing skills
  • Motivated self-starter, willing to take initiative to work both independently and as a team member


Work Arrangement:
This position is currently an on-site role, with the expectation that you will work at least 4 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
