Purpose:
The Associate, Retail Foreign Exchange & Precious Metals executes FX and Precious Metals transactions and manages pricing for Scotiabank Retail branches across Canada and the Caribbean while delivering superior customer interactions. As a Subject Matter Expert, the successful candidate will be relied upon to work closely with branch employees as well as internal and external business partners to provide FX and Precious Metals related advice.

What You'll Do:

  • Price and book FX and Precious Metals transactions for Scotiabank Retail branches
  • Assist in managing and maintaining FX and Precious Metals pricing for the Canadian and Caribbean Branches
  • Provide Branches with support and appropriate solutions to various client requirements
  • Investigate unsettled and outstanding transactions done by Branches
  • Manage FX and Precious Metals requests through various technologies
  • Proactively look for opportunities to drive excellent customer experiences
  • Act as a product and subject matter expert
  • Protect the Bank from loss and/or exposure to unnecessary risks through strict compliance with applicable acts, policies and regulations as applicable

What You'll Bring:

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in finance or a Quantitative field
  • Professional designations such as MBA, CFA, CA, CPA or CFP would be an asset
  • Experience in FX and capital markets, additional experience in retail banking or global transaction banking
  • Experience in a customer facing role in a team-based environment is preferred
  • Strong relationship builder who has a proven track record of collaborating with others
  • Highly motivated self-starter with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly and effectively respond to enquiries with confidence
  • Accuracy, timely processing and attention to detail is critical
  • Strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI
  • Experience in Data Analytics and building models
  • Programming skills (Macros, VBA, Python, etc)
  • Bilingual in English and French, with good oral skills would be an asset


Work Arrangement:
This position is currently an on-site role, with the expectation that you will work at least 4 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
