What is the opportunity?
The Bilingual Financial Planning Software Solutions Consultant will support RBC Financial Planners, Investment Advisors, and more across Canada by providing financial advice and planning solutions to differentiate the client experience. This role within the Family Office Services (FOS) team involves close collaboration with various departments, including Wealth Management and RBC Personal & Commercial Banking. The Consultant will be the technical expert for Conquest Planning, our internally developed myGPS®, and Wealth Planning Calculators.
Please note that this is a financial planning consultant role with a software development focus, not a technology support position.
What will you do?
Financial Planning Tools Support - Assist the various financial planning roles using corporate-approved financial advice and planning tools to respond to client queries, uncover hidden assets, retain business, and develop referrals.
Testing - Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of updated or newly created tools developed internally or acquired from external vendors.
Coaching - Provide ongoing coaching to users directly or refer them to job aids and other resources.
Documentation - Create and update job aids, user guides, and other resources; ensure that financial advice and planning tools, reports, questionnaires, and marketing materials are updated regularly; and develop new documents as required.
Training - Working with Personal and Commercial Banking or Dominion Securities' Learning Services groups, contributing to developing and updating training programs and supporting material. On occasion, deliver training to the sales force.
Projects - Participate in various working groups & cross-departmental projects.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs.
Undergraduate education in a related field, preferably Finance or Wealth Management.
CFP, IQPF, QAFP, F. PI., CLU, RRC, or PFP designation
Knowledge of financial planning software (Conquest preferred)
Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in the financial planning/wealth management industry
Knowledge of Canadian taxation and pension legislation
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Strong research skills, analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze data
Able to manage and prioritize workload with competing deadlines
Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Nice-to-have
An interest in working with financial planning tool development.
Natural curiosity towards learning and broadening the personal knowledge base
