ZRS Canada is currently looking for a Business Continuity/Resilience Leader to develop, maintain, and test our customer's business continuity programs. The leader will support all business plan activities necessary to enable the Organization to manage a crisis event and meet compliance requirements for BCP planning.
Reporting to the Head of ZRS, Canada, you will work on Identifying, documenting, and testing customers' business needs against the Company infrastructure and identifying recovery strategies and gaps as a fee-for-service.

• Work with all functional business areas in an organization (customer office) to develop and maintain a corporate wide BCP program that addresses business recovery and emergency response management.
• Liaise with BCP Coordinators at a customer level to develop effective working relationships and documented BCP plans
• Liaise with key infrastructure teams to identify gaps, set recovery time objectives and convey business needs/expectations.
• Manage key relationships with Underwriting Business Partners, Executive Team at Zurich Canada, ZRS Senior Stakeholders and Direct to Customer Professionalism & Relationships.
• Design and outline BCP goals, objectives and scope for business plans and Crisis Management.
• Support and assist in the development of BCP planning and goals for customers.
• Support the stakeholders in aligning all BCP planning, initiatives, and goals with Organizational goals and Infrastructure capabilities.
• Develop and execute the maintenance and testing programs for all business plans, Websites, and other information/communication tools for customers.
• Direct and supervise plan maintenance processes and execution for customers on request.
• Illustrate for customers how to Execute on the plan as it pertains to website and communication tool requirements during a crisis
• Identify and recommend enhanced plan maintenance strategies that remain flexible to
organizational growth, change and resource capabilities for customers.
• Design and facilitate tests and exercises on the business plans and crisis management execution.
• Support execution of the plan and support plan navigation for the business at the time of an event (if required).
• Develops Customer Service Plan for coordinated accounts that drive efficient field service
• Ensures the delivery and quality of services to the account by Zurich Risk Engineering as well as ensures consistency of assessments, risk improvement advice, reporting and time & expense management across the account.
• Communicates effectively with field risk engineers and nurtures relationships with industry partners such as brokers, industry consultants, professional organizations, and approval authorities.
• Supports external customers by identifying, assessing and reducing the risks that their key / strategic assets face and on an overall account basis
• Provides essential risk benchmarking services and account-wide risk improvement programs.
What you bring to the table
Required:
• Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in managing business continuity within an organization or as a consultant.
OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience managing business continuity within an organization or as a consultant.
OR
• Zurich Certified Apprentice, including an Associates degree and 8 or more years of experience in the managing business continuity within an organization or as a consultant.
AND
• Knowledge of exposures, controls and best practice risk improvement.
Preferred:
• Certified Continuity Planner
• 5+ years managing business continuity within an organization or as a consultant
• Knowledge of technology and business concepts, life cycles and processes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Self-starter with the ability to work with a great degree of autonomy
• Insurance industry knowledge considered an asset
• Ability to work nights and weekends during a crisis event to support customers
• Ability to travel - 20% (if/when required)
• French language skills are an asset for Ontario candidates and a requirement for candidates in Quebec
Verbal and written proficiency in the English language is required in order to facilitate communication with internal and external key stakeholders located outside of Quebec.
