The Opportunity
Join an innovative team as a Cloud Engineer in the Cloud Control Engineering team at RBC. In this role, you will be an integral part of managing and building our cloud compliance services and reporting. We are looking for a passionate and creative Cloud Engineer who is excited about problem solving and working with the latest technologies.
As a member of our team, you will collaborate closely with Risk, SREs, Platform Engineers, Architects, and Security Professionals. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining and enhancing our cloud compliance services. Additionally, you will participate in a support on-call rotation, demonstrating flexibility and dedication to our 24/7 operational needs.
What will you do?
Work as part of the team managing our cloud compliance services (in-house tooling & SaaS services), including management, integrations, and troubleshooting.
Build and own scalable services using best practices around automation, pushing changes that improve reliability and velocity.
Manage & support compliance tooling for monitoring and observability.
Manage & support our centralized data ingestion and reporting services.
Work closely across our cloud risk, compliance, and operations organization.
Work flexible hours when necessary and be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Qualifications:
Experience working with one or more of: Python, GO and have experience integrating with third party APIs
Experience with microservices architecture and development including associated tools.
Intermediate experience managing physical infrastructure and/or a minimum of two cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
Intermediate experience with the operational aspects of systems such as monitoring, centralized logging, and alerting with relevant tools (Ex. Dynatrace, Splunk, New Relic, ELK, Sumo Logic)
Experience working with orchestration and configuration management systems such as Ansible or Puppet, and infrastructure-as-code systems such as CloudFormation or Terraform
Experience with data tools and technologies (e.g., Splunk, PowerBi, Tableau, DataBricks, Glue).
A good understanding of modern, cloud-centric architectures and DevOps and SRE principles.
Nice to Have:
A relevant degree or certificate in Computer Science or a comparable field of study, or equivalent practical experience
Experience with control frameworks (e.g., CSA, NIST, Custom).
Experience working in large, highly regulated enterprise organizations and/or financial sector institutions
A strong system management background in PaaS/SaaS environment practices, including: maintaining SLAs, load-balancing, high availability, operating system patching, networking, and security management/patching
