Eligibility Note: To qualify for a student (Co-op/Internship) opportunity, students must be enrolled in their academic studies at a post-secondary institution (university/college) and must be returning to school after completion of their work term with QuadReal. If you are a student registered in an official co-op program at your post-secondary institution and completion of a final work term is a mandatory component for you to graduate, you are eligible to apply with the understanding that you will leave QuadReal at the end of your work term or have the possibility to be considered for full-time opportunities.
Based in Toronto, the Co-op/Intern, Data Governance is responsible for supporting and implementing data governance and data quality frameworks developed to increase visibility to the organizational data quality gaps. The successful candidate will also work to ensure data definitions (business glossaries), policies, standards, rules, roles, and responsibilities (stewardship) are managed as a strategic business asset in our Data Governance tool of choice, Collibra.

What You Will Experience:
Work closely with the Data Governance team and internal customers for support and development of governance and quality reporting.
Ensure the organization has a common understanding of the data by supporting the continuous enrichment of QuadReal's business glossary using Collibra governance platform.
Analyze data with data profiling and visualization tools to identify issues and recommend improvement actions.
Apply data quality dimensions and rules to identify and filter data issues as needed.
Design and build data quality rules to validate the quality of data, as well as dashboards and metrics to monitor it.
Perform ad-hoc analytics on large/diverse datasets from multiple enterprise applications like Yardi and MS Dynamics.
Provide data in consumable formats and automate data remediation opportunities.
Create high-quality project deliverables, including reports, presentations, and briefing notes
Work effectively and collaborate with other teams to drive organization wide efficiencies.
What You Will Bring:
Currently enrolled in an academic program preferably in Business, Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or Data Analytics.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills; detail-oriented and proficient in building and handling complicated data sets.
Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and present results that articulate key themes and messages.
Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Power BI.
Familiarity with SQL language, including SELECT statements, JOINs, aggregations, subqueries, regex, and basic query optimization.
Proficiency in Git for version control and collaboration, including branching, merging, pull requests.
Previous experience with Data Quality Management tools and defining and supporting data-cleaning initiatives.
