Purpose:

  • The position is for a Developer within the GRT-Liquidity Risk group and entails taking on a technical role within the Liquidity Risk team. The incumbent is responsible for providing efficient and cost-effective technical solutions across a mix of in-house and vendor platforms that aligns with the streamlining initiative of the Liquidity Risk group.
  • The candidate must be able to interact with numerous internal teams including Operations, Data Capture and Application support groups.
  • The incumbent will have IT experience and a strong technical background. The individual must be self-driven, think proactively and be able to provide guidance as the role requires.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Participate in development of cost effective and robust applications.
  • Provide technical support to applications in production and during user acceptance testing.
  • Participate in systems implementation, planning, and development.
  • Provide technical guidance to other team members.
  • Manage or work within cross-functional teams to deliver BAU or Project initiatives.

General qualifications:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ideas must be able to be understood and shared.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Strong ability to work on several concurrent assignments involving various technologies and environments.
  • Disciplined approach to development methodology and software development technologies and concepts
  • Hands-on experience with all phases of SDLC

Required technical qualifications:

  • Experience working with large volumes
  • Experience working with Java/J2EE. Familiarity with multiple external Java frameworks is a plus (Spring, Struts, Log4J, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with RDBMS Systems Server (Postgres preferred)
  • Experience using Linux or Unix, including related scripting
  • Experience using source control systems (GIT preferred)

Desired technical knowledge:

  • Nifi
  • Major transport protocols: FTP, SFTP and other SSH connectivity tools.
  • Experience working with and configuring vendor applications (ex. Realiti) is a strong plus

Desired business knowledge:

  • Knowledge of financial instruments.
  • Experienced in application / solutions architecture

Education:

  • A recognized under-graduate degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline.
