What is the opportunity?

RBC CAE Group is seeking a Director, Strategy & Insights to support our strategic transformation and drive cutting-edge research that will shape the future direction of the organization.

As part of the CAE Group's ambitious multi-year transformation strategy, this pivotal role will be at the forefront of informing business strategy by gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing critical industry insights. You will be responsible for leveraging leading research partners to uncover emerging trends, best practices, and innovations that will guide the function's transformation while ensuring that strategies protect and enable the business to thrive.

A key aspect of this role is translating those insights into strategic recommendations. You will also build an internal culture of knowledge-sharing by delivering comprehensive reports, presentations, and knowledge sessions that ensure findings are disseminated to stakeholders. Your insights will directly influence our strategy, positioning the organization to respond to industry shifts and business challenges with agility and foresight.

This role is ideal for an energetic self-starter with a passion for innovation, ability to influence culture and drive change through strategic intelligence.

What will you do?

  • Strategy Development: Create forward-looking strategic plans and drive initiatives that are adaptive, enabling us to continuously refine strategy and ensuring CAE Group is well-equipped to meet future challenges.
  • Thought Leadership: Lead the CAE Group's research agenda, ensuring external insights are fully leveraged. Identify key trends, regulatory shifts, and market intelligence that inform risk management and strategic positioning.
  • Insight Generation: Synthesize research findings into actionable insights that inform business strategy. You will interpret complex data, market trends, regulatory shifts, and emerging best practices, translating them into strategic frameworks that both safeguard the organization's interests and fuel strategic positioning.
  • Knowledge Dissemination: Establish processes to ensure research findings are shared across RBC, enabling informed decisions (e.g., reports, presentations, and knowledge-sharing sessions to ensure that insights/foresight protects the organization by enabling leaders to make data-driven decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure strategies are well-informed, aligned to business objectives, and resilient to industry disruptions.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience supporting transformational initiatives and developing near-and-long term strategies
  • Proven ability to leading research initiatives to generate actionable insights. Must be comfortable leveraging external research agencies to extract key insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to inspire action and inform the organization
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with stakeholders and build relationships
  • Effective facilitation and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret insights

Nice-to-have:

  • Working knowledge or experience in financial services
  • A broad perspective across multiple industries, enabling the organization to benchmark itself against best practices while staying ahead of potential risks
  • Experience managing large-scale, global initiatives from ideation to execution
  • A mindset focused on innovation while balancing the need to safeguard the organization against emerging risks and market volatility.
