WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
As the Director of Automation Platform Engineering, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for delivering Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) at scale across the enterprise. The role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and infrastructure automation. Current product scope spans from User Experience to Infrastructure API calls.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Lead the development and delivery of virtualized infrastructure, including VMs, databases, and storage.
Drive engineering excellence, focusing on best practices for software development, automation, and operations.
Empower teams to achieve high productivity by identifying and removing blockers, promoting innovation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Engage cross-functionally with DevOps, Digital, Security, Cloud, and traditional infrastructure teams to align on initiatives and deliver IaaS with cloud like capabilities on traditional infrastructure.
Champion the adoption of modern engineering practices, including cloud-native development, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), and DevOps.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure automation.
Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and microservices architecture.
Strong experience in DevOps, security, and traditional infrastructure management.
Proven ability to build, scale, and lead high-performing engineering teams.
Nice to Have:
Hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
A strong understanding of engineering culture and practices that promote productivity, innovation, and collaboration across teams.
Working understanding of modern web applications and micro-frontend architectures.
