What is the opportunity?
The Director, Business Management & Strategy is responsible for overseeing the business management, strategic initiatives, model design, strategy, and expense management for RBC Investor Services Operations. The role is responsible for leading operational strategic initiatives and small incremental change projects as well as driving the effectiveness of the business by partnering with functional groups. The role manages a road map for the next 12 - 18 months. In addition, the role manages audit and regulatory items, operational risk controls and assessments.
What will you do?
- Lead Operational strategic initiatives and small incremental change projects.
- Drive the effectiveness of the business and operating model by partnering with functional resources including Finance, Risk, Legal, Strategy, Human Resources, Technology and Compliance.
- Manage audit and regulatory items, operational risk controls and assessments, KYC and ensures compliance with risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
- Contributes to First Line of Defense (1LOD) for all compliance and regulatory issues.
- Accountable for the operations roadmap and strategy, including process improvement.
- Provide focus and clarity for direct reports in establishing individual goals, driving performance, supporting career development, and rewarding individual and team success.
- Proactively identify operations risk risks/control deficiencies in the business.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 7 - 10 years' experience in business or industry leadership roles
- Extensive Leadership experience
- Undergraduate degree in business/finance, or other relevant degree.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a quantitative background
- Strong corporate knowledge
- Extensive experience in a strategy development and planning
- Ability to solve complex issues and drive change in the business
Nice-to-have
- MBA, CFA, or post-graduate degree in a quantitative subject
