The Director, Canadian Banking Transition will contribute to the success of change management initiatives and sustainment strategies through effective management of human capital, organization structure and complement in accordance with business line strategies.
The Director, Canadian Banking Transition acts as an advisor to the business line by providing thought leadership, advice and guidance on change management related strategies and implementation. The incumbent works closely with key stakeholders, OMNI Channel, Canadian Banking Finance, Canadian Banking HR and Global HR to build capabilities in a manner that maximizes efficiencies, minimizes risk and remains compliant with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
The Director is also responsible for promoting a performance-oriented culture focused on our customers, enhancing our leadership depth, diversity and deployment, better serve our customers while reducing structural costs, drive our digital transformation and align our business mix with deeper customer relationships.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Develop, champion and deliver on short and long-term strategies and implementation plans in support of Retail Performance mandate, Canadian Banking business line goals and objectives and the Bank's overall goals and objectives by acting as a subject matter resource for branch organization structure and internal staffing related change initiatives.
Lead and oversee the management and tracking of complement, remuneration planning and all monthly staffing and vacancy reporting for Canadian Regional Offices and Retail Branch Network, including any specific change initiatives.
Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Undergraduate degree, preferably with focus on business/human resources or work-related experience in the financial services industry and a minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience.
Strong communications skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization. Able to collaborate with stakeholders and business partners and coach managers. Actively listens and seeks to understand needs with genuine curiosity.
Strong people leadership skills, problem solving, conflict management and negotiation skills
Excellent influencing skills with highly effective interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills in order to build consensus and obtain co-operation
