Job Summary

The Director, Enterprise Strategy & Transformation - Business Process Re-Engineering will be responsible for developing, prioritizing and managing a robust pipeline of strategic process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will lead strategic reviews of segments, lines of business, functions and key processes, ensuring the process and productivity strategies are well developed, articulated and aligned across businesses and with enterprise perspective/priorities.

What is the opportunity?
Working within the Enterprise Strategy & Transformation team, you will lead engagements in developing, driving and partnering with RBC Lines of Business to optimize business processes from a customer centric and productivity lens.

This includes developing current state views and designing and implementing future state processes leveraging a broad toolkit of process change methodologies and next generation Process Technologies.


The team serves as thought partners to senior executives and Line of Business partners, offering targeted support for the highest priority and most complex strategic and process-related problems. The team also acts as a catalyst for enterprise transformation, cross-platform collaboration, and new capability development.

What will you do?

  • Develop, prioritize and manage a robust pipeline of strategic process improvement initiatives
  • Lead strategic reviews of segments, lines of business, functions and key processes, ensuring the process and productivity strategies are well developed, articulated and aligned across businesses and with enterprise perspective/priorities
  • Perform complex strategic process reviews, from an End-to-End and Customer centric lens for Group Executives, segment Operating Committees, Enterprise Strategy Office and Line of business partners
  • Lead the implementation of multiple Process Improvement opportunities in tandem and in partnership with the Lines of Business and Functions
  • Provide thought leadership around Process Re-Engineering (eg. E2E/F2B Design, 'Shift to Left' Re-Engineering, Straight-through-processing, Lean, Workflow, Workforce Management, RPA/RDA/RCA, Zero base design) to the Line of Business partners
  • Support senior leaders, strategists, functions and cross- functional project teams with rigorous strategic insight based on thorough research and analysis

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • 8+ years' experience in Corporate Strategy, Consulting, Financial Services, Process Improvement/Optimization, Machine Learning / AI, FinTech or technology company
  • 4+ years of deep and broad management consulting experience with an emphasis on business strategy or Process / Productivity Improvements
  • MBA or graduate / post-graduate or professional designations or equivalent
  • Experience leading a project team, along with demonstrated ability in project & process design, management and implementation
  • Experience with new/emerging businesses and digital business models
  • Experience in applying next generation Technologies (RPA, Workflow, AI/ML) to existing Business Processes that will enable Straight-Through-Processing
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships at every level of the organization
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills and presence
  • Strong technical ability with PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Comfort working in ambiguous situations and across different lines of business
