What you'll be doing.
The Director, Employee Relations is responsible for leading and managing the Employee Relations function within an assigned region/ function, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedure. This role is responsible for leading a team that provides employee relations advice and counsel to executives, people managers and employees on complex workplace situations, providing a fair and transparent employee experience while managing risk to the Bank by ensuring compliance with Scotiabank's Code of Conduct, policies, regulatory requirements and applicable laws. The Director will work closely with senior leadership, HR teams, and legal counsel to ensure a fair and consistent approach to employee relations across the Bank.
The Director, Employee & Labour Relations also oversees the Global Labour Relations strategy, and ensures it is aligned with Scotiabank's overall goals. It is also responsible for overseeing labour relations programs, policies and procedures within Scotiabank to foster a positive labour relations environment.
