What is the Opportunity?

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Onboarding Team is looking for a Director to lead a team to ensure RBC application teams leverage the strategic IAM solution across all strategic capability. The role will require you to provide thought leadership globally for IAM solution and support a high performing team to deliver towards RBC strategic IAM goals. You will need to participate in IAM solution development sessions to ensure the onboarding team can provide an effective service to prospective internal service partners.

We are looking for an ambitious, adaptable, and proactive leader with knowledge in the IAM, who challenges the status quo, is constantly thinking about flexibility, robustness, simplicity, and efficiency in everything we do.

What will you do?

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance for onboarding RBC service partners to IAM services.
  • Provide input on solution options and facilitate disciplined decision making to satisfy business needs whilst ensuring a balance with the IAM engineering, operations, and program teams. Solutions shall be inclusive of all aspects - technical, business, and operational and have buy-in and support of stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and more efficient operations with improvements to development processes, introduction of effective tooling and practices, and elimination of redundant systems and procedures.
  • Draft reports and presentations for various executive forums to achieve IAM strategic goals and ensure alignment to RBC risk appetite and governance.
  • Provide project estimates, assumptions, and integration as it relates to IAM onboarding.
  • Work with business partners and application teams across RBC Enterprise to explain the onboarding process and document requirements.
  • Work with business partners and application teams to ensure onboarded applications continue to be complaint.
  • Provide consultative services to ensure requirements are following RBC Standards.
  • Identify and report security risks in accordance with RBC Standards.
  • Provide support with tasks and ad hoc requests as required.
  • Function as point of escalation and resolution for incidents and project related issues.
  • Recruits, leads, mentors, and develops a high performing team, providing opportunities for growth.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 5+ years of experience leading IAM teams and projects.
  • Extensive in-depth experience with IAM capabilities and solutions.
  • Strong understanding of IAM concepts and solutions designs for efficient security controls.
  • Experience with project and capacity planning.
  • Ability to manage, lead, prioritize, and execute with minimal direction or oversight in a high-pressure environment.
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and negotiation with internal teams for effective task completion.
  • Proficient technical experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Visio, etc.).
  • Ability to understand large data sets and create reports/presentations for executives.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience presenting to a wide variety of audience, including executives.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with IAM products such as CyberArk PAS, SailPoint IdentityIQ, and Entra ID.
  • Experience with project delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
  • Professional certification(s) related to information security or information risk management such as CRISC, CISA, CISM, CISSP.
