The Director, Liquidity Stress Testing will enhance the Liquidity Management role within Group Treasury by providing thought leadership and guidance on the development of internal stress scenarios & corresponding assumptions.
The emphasis on internal stress testing and scenario planning supports a more strategic and agile approach to Group Treasury's liquidity risk framework by enabling more robust decision-making that reflects the Bank's unique risk profile and operational realities. By incorporating internal views and tailored scenarios, the Bank can better assess its liquidity needs, identify potential vulnerabilities, and devise strategies to mitigate risks.
The development of stress scenarios and the underlying assumptions will require a multi-faceted approach leveraging both quantitative data analytics and qualitative insights. By asking the right questions and harnessing the power of data, the role will enhance Group Treasury's ability to anticipate and mitigate risks, ultimately leading to better decision-making and strategic resilience.
The Director, Liquidity Stress Testing will utilize and incorporate results and insights from the internal liquidity stress tests across functions such as Balance Sheet Management & Funds Transfer Pricing to align Treasury & Bank strategic objectives.
In this role, the Director, Liquidity Stress Testing will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business & Risk partners to ensure fulfillment of regulatory stress testing programs including CDIC Resolution and Trade Book Wind Down & OSFI's Recovery, Macro and Enterprise stress tests.
