Director, Loss Prevention Technology:

The Director of Loss Prevention Technology is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and management of technology solutions that safeguard the bank's operations against fraud, money laundering (AML), and digital risks. This role oversees the technology supporting fraud detection and prevention, AML, collections, and the digital risk engine (DRE), ensuring these systems are efficient, effective, and aligned with the bank's overall risk management strategy. The Director is responsible for overseeing the integration of Open Banking technologies to ensure secure and complaint access to customers financial data. The Director provides leadership and direction in the utilization of advanced technology to mitigate risks, comply with regulatory requirements, and enhance the security and resilience of the bank's digital and operational infrastructure.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

Oversee the design, development, and deployment of advanced technology solutions:

  • Ensure the implementation of highly scalable, enterprise-level technology and tools to support fraud detection, AML, collections, digital risk management, and Open Banking.
  • Guarantee systems are aligned with the bank's overall risk management strategy and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with business units and leaders:

  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders, including Engineering, Digital Product and Experience, Fraud, Compliance, AML, Risk, Bank Operations, and Open Banking teams, to identify and address technology needs and dependencies.
  • Lead execution against strategic plans and roadmaps for loss prevention technologies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Promote innovation and efficiency:

  • Encourage the development and adoption of innovative solutions for fraud detection, AML, collections, and digital risk management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving efficiency and effectiveness in loss prevention operations using advanced technologies.

Build and maintain a high-performance environment:

  • Develop an inclusive and high-performing engineering culture, attracting, retaining, and motivating top talent in the field of loss prevention technology.
  • Implement a people strategy that aligns with the bank's values and business goals, ensuring effective succession planning and professional development for the team.

Ensure regulatory compliance and alignment:

  • Translate complex compliance and regulatory requirements into practical and cost-effective technology solutions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and ensure all loss prevention technologies and processes comply with applicable laws and standards.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 10+ years' experience in a leadership role managing large complex enterprise-level technology projects and programs with significant technology and operational components
  • Expert knowledge of software development and design principles for highly scalable, enterprise level technology stacks
  • Expert knowledge in modern agile principles and in a range of modern technologies and frameworks including working knowledge of the full stack
  • Flexibility to adapt to new and evolving environments and a demonstrated willingness and aptitude for picking new things up quickly
  • Strong leadership and relationship building skills
  • Extensive experience with automation, deployment and testing practices at scale
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to semi-technical audiences
