What is the opportunity?

We are looking for a Director, Merchant Revenue to join Team Avion. The Merchant Revenue team is responsible for accelerating and monitoring the efficient growth of our merchant business through analysis of new opportunities and solutions, ensuring the economic integrity of partner initiatives, and measuring economic outcomes for all stakeholders. We partner with teams across Avion to improve the profitability, scalability, and defensibility of our business models.
What you will do?
Lead collaboration with key stakeholders across Partnerships, Product, Acquisition, Data and Operations to develop investment decision making frameworks, build and operationalize pricing models for new verticals and forecast revenue to drive the success of Avion's commercial efforts
Play a key leadership role in building the strategy for strategic partnerships, ensuring that we drive value for all stakeholders and developing the economic models to define and measure success of the partnerships
Define metrics and leading indicators of business performance and partner with the Loyalty Analytics team to develop tools and dashboards to make these metrics broadly available across Avion
Collaborate with Finance partners to refine financial and performance reporting framework for strategic partners and new revenue streams
Identify and quantify key risks & opportunities in our business
Work closely with leadership across Merchant Solutions and Partnerships to identify strategically important questions and answer them with data
Provide leadership and direction to the Merchant Revenue team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
What you need to succeed?
Must Have:
7+ years of strategic finance, corporate finance or investment banking experience with a high-growth startup or well-established company, with ideally 2+ years operating at a Director level
The ability to influence cross-functional partners at all levels within an organization
Demonstrable experience creating and presenting financial and commercial strategies to executive leadership
Advanced financial modeling skills: able to build robust financial models, size opportunities and build business cases for pursuing new initiatives
The ability to manipulate large data sets, uncover hidden insights in our data, and meaningfully improve our understanding of our business through this process
The ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving environment
Nice to Have:
CFA or CPA or Finance MBA
Previous experience in one of the following areas:
Financial / Commercial function in Loyalty
Financial / Commercial function in Marketing / Advertising
