Director, Process Transformation, Canadian Commercial Banking

Purpose

The Director, Process Transformation - Canadian Commercial Banking is responsible for leading the transformation of our business process and client journeys across the value chain. This role covers all segments and businesses within Canadian Commercial Banking, ensuring strategies and plans align with business objectives and are compliant with regulations, policies, and procedures.


Accountabilities:

• Promotes a client focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank partnerships, systems and knowledge.

• Leads FTE Management process for Commercial Banking

• Develops and leads Commercial Banking's Sales Force Enablement strategic initiatives in collaboration with various internal partners. Serves as the key representative for the Commercial Bank and subject matter expert with various internal partners groups, specifically GTB, Marketing, Small Business, GBM, BSC and Canadian Branch Banking. Fosters relationships, strategic alliances and partnerships with all internal stakeholders to ensure objectives are aligned.

• Leads continuous improvement initiatives in alignment with the Client Experience Model. Develops strategies and processes to recommend and implement changes for the business line, supporting the client experience at critical touch points.

• Develops new metrics for partner value, referral business, and service standards to align with business objectives. Assists in creating reporting mechanisms to track and monitor progress in partnering efforts.

• Develops and improves program management throughout the network by maintaining an inventory of processes and policies, overseeing lean management practices, and monitoring product lifecycles.

• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

• Ensures efficient operations while adhering to business controls to manage operational, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct risks. This includes following operational and regulatory frameworks, and guidelines for risk management and business conduct.

• Promotes a high-performance environment and creates a people strategy to attract, retain, develop, and motivate the team. Fosters inclusivity, communicates vision/values/business strategy, and manages succession and development planning for the team.

Dimensions:


• This scope incorporates measurement criteria, breadth, magnitude of key statistics, budgets, design, implementation, tracking, results, authorities and controls for Commercial Banking and related business line units supported.
• Collaborates with various business lines across the Bank
• Oversees multiple projects concurrently


Education / Experience / Other Information:


• University degree (MBA or Engineering is an asset) with minimum 10 years related experience
• Solid understanding of strategic and operational aspects of Commercial Banking and interrelated business line partners, i.e. policies, procedures, operational processes, systems and technology etc.
• Six Sigma and PMP Designation is preferred
• Highly organized and able to handle a large number of concurrent high priority activities and requests
• Strong negotiating and influencing skills to engage and influence stakeholders collaboratively at all levels of the organization
• Strong proficiency in project management, organizational, analytical and creative problem-solving skills and techniques, with a systematic approach to setting priorities and dealing with changing deadlines
• Experience leading multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and oral communications design and delivery capabilities
• Good budget planning, forecasting, and management skills
• Proven judgment as problems can be complex and without precedent
• Strong research capabilities to obtain background information and insight for projects that cover wide variety of operational processes, credit risk and cash management products with which the incumbent may or may not be thoroughly familiar
• Strong working knowledge of PC's and department-related software including Microsoft Office (with particular attention on Excel and Powerpoint), VISIO and Microsoft Project would be an asset


Working Conditions:

• Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel domestically.
