What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director to lead our Innovation & Technology Risk and Regulatory mandate. The successful candidate will have a strong background in business intelligence reporting, technology risk management, and RegTech (Regulatory Technology) solutions. They will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of risk management and control processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving strategic initiatives to improve our organization's risk posture.
What will you do?
Business Intelligence and Report Engineering:
Design and implement automated reporting solutions using business intelligence tools for I&T Risk & Regulatory reporting.
Develop automated workflows to track risk resolution timelines, impact volumes, and root-cause analyses to reduce dependency on manual data collection.
Collaborate with IT stakeholders to gather, analyze and provide rich insights to inform proactive risk management decisions.
Risk Management and Control:
Assess and prioritize areas of focus for High Inherent/High Residual risks, including Cyber Security and Data Protection.
Proactively lead AppDev teams in the implementation of remediation plans for risks with inadequate control environments, such as High Risk Acceptance Findings and Audit Issues.
Monitor and track progress of remediation efforts, including due dates and ownership.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with IT regulatory frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and financial industry standards.
Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and adapt strategies accordingly.
Leadership and Collaboration:
Lead technical teams on automating risk workflows and deploying RegTech solutions at scale
Partner effectively with diverse stakeholders, including technology teams and Risk on complex projects.
Provide executive-level consultancy/advisory, facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
12+ years in technology and risk management, with expertise in either infrastructure, security, AI/ML governance, or DevOps compliance.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technical field or equivalent technical experience.
Proven track record in business intelligence data and report engineering.
Proficiency in VBA, Python, SQL, and risk modeling tools (e.g., Archer, ServiceNow).
Experience leading technical teams on automating risk workflows and deploying RegTech solutions at scale.
Expert ability to drive strategic initiatives and partner effectively with diverse stakeholders, including technology teams and Risk on complex projects with excellent consultancy/advisory, facilitation, communication, and presentation skills.
Please Note: this role is a senior executive facing position and the successful candidate will be required in-office 4 days a week.
Nice-to-have:
Certification in either CRISC, CISSP, CISM, or AWS/Azure security certifications.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning or additional programming languages, such as Java or C++.
Familiarity with security and cloud-based platforms and services.
Familiarity with additional regulatory frameworks and financial industry standards.
