Contributes to the overall success of the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCIO) globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Management and oversight for delivery of a portfolio of initiatives focused on technology and cybersecurity risks, ensuring that the deliverables align with strategic priorities.

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • Collaborate with business SMEs and technology teams to create platform roadmaps that align and assist in moving business strategies forward.

  • Lead effective Program-level reporting in alignment with the defined program governance structure to ensure risks, decisions and mitigation plans for initiatives are effectively communicated.

  • Partner with the Portfolio Governance teams in prioritization / planning exercises for all application and security programs.

  • Project engagements crossing multiple organizational and geographic boundaries and often involve external suppliers and contractors.

  • Present the state of their Portfolio in regular and ad hoc cadence to VPs / SVP, business partners and ad hoc at the EVP level.

  • Engage with the engineering and design teams to help determine the best technical implementation methods as well as a reasonable implementation schedule to launch products on a regular basis.

  • Strong analytical Business Case writing skills coupled with the ability to sell/gain funding approval from the multiple line of business CIOs/CFOs.

  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

  • Understand and keep up to date with emerging technologies, trends, and innovative solutions across the industry.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 10+ years of hands-on working experience in IT Project Management

  • 5+ years of hands-on working experience in leading diverse and global teams across geographies & time zones.

  • Excellent communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English.

  • Demonstrate effective influence and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual / critical thinking, thought leadership, strategic planning and project delivery/execution skills.

  • Experience delivering excellent results in a large, complex and global environment with a mix of emerging, current and legacy technology.

  • PMP in good standing
