Your Key Tax Responsibilities
You are expected to participate in and supervise multiple and challenging tax engagements and to contribute to the delivery of compliance services and innovative tax planning ideas for our diverse services.
Core Elements of the role include:
• Demonstrating a thorough understanding of tax concepts and application of tax knowledge as it relates to U.S. and Canada corporate Federal and state income tax compliance
• Leading preparation and reviews of U.S. and Canada corporate tax returns
• Conducting tax research at federal and state levels, thoroughly analyzing U.S. cross-border tax issues and drafting technical memos related to specific client matters
• Developing and delivering innovative tax planning ideas with timely and responsive services and work products that meet or exceed client expectations.
• Preparing practical and creative solutions to the client's tax situation and arriving at appropriate conclusions.
• Leading the development of tax recommendations and implementation plans.
• Making informed decisions in complex and judgmental areas.
Your Key Accounting Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all financial data.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and provide insights to management.
• Prepare financial forecasts and budgets, and assist in the development of financial strategies.
Compliance And Audit:
• Ensure compliance with various regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and support external and internal audits.
• Maintain and enforce internal controls and accounting policies.
To qualify for the role you must have:
• An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in U.S. Tax
• A CPA designation
• A background in tax compliance and accounting for corporate income tax as well as a broad understanding of federal, state and local income or franchise tax
• Strong software skills, including but not limited to proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks
• The ability to analyze complex data from multiple sources and a high attention to detail
• The ability to prioritize when working on multiple projects and manage client relationships by ensuring data quality, teaming, and timely deliverables
Ideally, you'll also have
• U.S tax experience
