Reporting to the Director, Transformation and Financial Systems, the Finance Lead, Transformation and Financial Systems plays a crucial role in the implementation of the finance strategic plans to support the transformation of Ontario Health atHome into a Services Organization and support the Enterprise Resource Management system.

What will you do?

  • Lead the departmental project plan components for transformation to the Services Organization.
  • Functional expert in Quadrant Financials (QFIN) and Ontario Health Reporting Standards (OHRS)
  • Lead all maintenance and updates related to the chart of accounts in Quadrant Financials (QFIN) and all financial system modules including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and purchasing
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to address QFIN system requests and issues, and support QFIN integration with other Ontario Health atHome systems (e.g., Quadrant Workforce, CHRIS, other)
  • Liaise with Ontario Health to ensure that QFIN and system related issues are addressed properly and in a timely manner.
  • Develop and document workflow processes in the operation of financial systems, including user training as required.
  • Identify any opportunities for process improvements associated with current practices.
  • Lead month-end and year-end financial accounting period close-out processes in QFIN, including coordinating with other members of the finance team.
  • Identify and escalate risks and mitigation strategies to the Director, Transformation and Financial Systems, as appropriate.
  • Participate, as required, in Ontario Health atHome transformation projects and initiatives to align activities to achieve transformation.
  • Participate, as required, in the development of the business requirements for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation.
  • Prepare regular status reports for the Director, Transformation and Financial Systems as required.
  • Generate reports and information as requested to support decision making
  • Participate in the development or updates of financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and preserve the confidential information of Finance Department and other functional areas supported for reporting and projects.

What must you have?

  • Post-secondary diploma in business, accounting and/or finance and professional accounting designation (CPA) required
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience providing accounting and finance support services in an office environment, preferably including public sector experience.
  • Experience with accounting software packages specifically Quadrant Financials
  • Experience in a health care environment
  • Experience with and understanding the need for exercising strict privacy and confidentiality of information and documentation, including Human Resources data.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Ontario Healthcare Reporting standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and implications to the financial system design
  • Advanced keyboarding skills and proven proficiency with a variety of computerized accounting, spreadsheet, and word-processing programs.
  • Knowledge of various accounting and payroll software systems and ability to adapt and transition between systems.
  • Good understanding of general office administrative processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of financial systems, reporting processes and requirements.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing, entering, and processing financial information.
  • Good knowledge of Ontario Health atHome business objectives, priorities, practices, and procedures.
  • Good understanding of financial services objectives and priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and gain buy-in
  • Ability to work effectively with staff to anticipate needs, understand issues, identify concerns and resolve problems
  • Confident communication with advanced verbal and written proficiency
