Job Description

Union: Non-Union
Department: FM-PRO Finance
Site: 67 College Street, Toronto
Reports to: Manager, Corporate Finance, FM-PRO, with dotted line to Finance Manager, Capital and FM-PRO Projects
Work Model: Hybrid
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Monday-Friday; 7.5 hours per day
Salary: $76,655 - $95,823 per annum (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Permanent Full-time
Closing Date: March 4, 2025

Position Summary

The Financial Analyst III is responsible for supporting the financial aspects of both the FM-PRO and Capital departments while adhering to all UHN policies, regulatory requirements and audit accountabilities to maintain appropriate internal and financial controls.

Duties

  • Prepare month close journal entries
  • Support the capital projects' accounting and planning process
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget and quarterly operating and project forecasts, long-term cash-flow plans
  • Prepare monthly variance analysis reports for senior management to facilitate the decision making
  • Evaluation of assigned Business cases
  • Enforce policies and procedures relating to capital spending
  • Work in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contraventions of the Act, in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Completed or actively working towards obtaining a Canadian CPA designation
  • Relevant work experience: minimum 3 years
  • Experience in an accounting or auditing environment with exposure to financial modeling
  • Experience with efficiency improvements
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel
  • Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
  • Experience in a commercial industry preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and embrace challenges
  • Computer literacy, required preferably in a Microsoft office environment, with an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly
  • Adheres to confidentiality policy for sensitive financial data and information
