Job Description:
The Dealer Accounting & Control team is responsible for ensuring the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of accounting transactions from the administration systems through to the General Ledger. This includes cash controls monitoring, accounting and reporting related to the Dealer business. The Financial Control Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all work is complete and accurate, identifying and escalating any issues and offering alternatives for a solution. The successful candidate should possess a natural willingness to support the team in the accomplishment of all objectives, strive to understand client's needs, create efficiencies and support innovation. The Financial Control specialist will have the opportunity to create process improvements and procedures documentation.

What will you do?
Trust Accounting functions for the Dealer back office
Reconcile various suspense and balance sheet accounts; reconcile all related bank accounts for Dealer products
Complete manual journal entries
Monitor daily accounting reports and error corrections; error tracking and trending to increase accuracy and create process improvements
Responsible for money movement between various systems and bank accounts
Balance accounting feeder files sent from the administration system to the General Ledger
Provide consultation to business partners to ensure standard accounting practices are being followed so control issues do not occur
What do you need to succeed?
Post-secondary degree in Finance/ accounting and some experience in accounting functions
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to handle conflicting priorities and meet stringent deadlines
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to operate effectively as a team member as well as independently with limited supervision
Solid problem-solving skills, analytical skills and attention to accuracy and detail
Adaptable, pro-active, and positive approach toward change
Preferred skills
Experience leading or supporting process improvement
Mutual fund industry experience
Familiar with SAP general ledger systems, Frontier, and/or Univeris
Notes/Unique requirements
Overtime will be required during peak periods (month-end and RRSP season)

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
