Reporting to the Manager, Audit & Compliance Unit, this role works within an environment of rapid change. While working under general direction there is a considerable degree of independence. The ACU conducts audits of lawyer billings to ensure compliance with billing rules and regulations. This position plays a fundamental role in the audit process by completing preliminary audit steps prior to analyst review; including setting up the audit tracking and ensuring documentation required to conduct the audit is available.

Reporting to: Manager, Audit & Compliance Unit
• Communicating with lawyers; responding to lawyer inquires via email and phone and managing the general email box
• Coordinating tasks; assignment of random audits, setting up ACU audit pages, managing the ACU worklist, tracking and recording all information received from lawyers, and setting up recoveries in PeopleSoft
• Maintain ACU PeopleSoft administrative functions
• Preliminary review of lawyer accounts to determine documentation required for audit process, requesting those documents and updating the audit process
• Responsible for managing third party data; using internal systems to request, track and obtain information
• Participate in ad hoc projects and assist in the audit process where necessary
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and French are essential for interacting with team members and stakeholders
• Time management and organizational skills are essential
• Advanced skills using Excel, Word and PeopleSoft
• Ability to work independently, work on and manage various responsibilities simultaneously, requiring strong multitasking and prioritization skills to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks
• Demonstrate ability to analyze, summarize and synthesize data.
• Ability to demonstrate excellent written communication skills; i.e. communicate specific and detailed information clearly and concisely to lawyers
• Ability to identify issues related to system billing rules and policies, and providing systemic solutions that would enhance the LAO billing system
