Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Support a fast-paced growing team that provides oversight and control across the Bank's Global Banking and Markets business line globally

We have two available roles within our Internal Controls Team

1) Global Governance
• Work as part of the Global Governance team developing global solutions as well as the establishment of global standards and operating principles within Scotiabank GBM, liaising with internal and external stakeholders as required
• Helps build the global enhancement of voice and e-communications controls and governance within GBM and establishes best practices for supervision (roll out of global training, new detection technology, coordination of global reviews of lexicons/scenarios/eligible employees for surveillance) while seeking input from multiple stakeholders
• Foster an environment of collaboration and best practices with other subject matter experts within GBM.


2) First Line Testing
• Support a fast growing team that aims to serve the GBM business by identifying risks and opportunities for control enhancements
• Performs analysis to identify and address patterns, themes, or trends that indicate potential weaknesses or gaps in the execution of business line controls and procedures.
• Assists in identifying and addressing underlying causes of control breakdowns or instances where controls are inadequate.
• Review policies, procedures and support walkthroughs to identify key controls, document processes and report findings and issues identified
