We are looking to hire an experienced General Construction Worker. As a General Construction Worker, your main task is to assist with major maintenance work, ensuring our buildings remain safe and functional, and participate in any construction projects that may be undertaken by the company.

How you will contribute:

  • Assist with various construction projects including new office and residential buildings and renovations.
  • Framing walls, decks, steps & landings
  • Interior finishing, including drywall, trim, and flooring.
  • Skirting Installation
  • Exterior envelope and weatherproofing
  • Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment.
  • Operate light equipment (Bobcats, forklifts, etc.)
  • Install exterior and interior doors.
  • Replace windows and doors, working with both metal and wood frames.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures as outlined on the job site.
  • Take direction from supervisors and work collaboratively with other team members.
  • Establishes, monitors, and carries out preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for buildings, equipment, and grounds.
  • Ensures building and equipment meets all functioning requirement, safety, security and fire regulations and policies, makes recommendations for major repairs and purchases to Manager.
  • Performs carpentry, electrical, painting, mechanical and plumbing maintenance, applying paint and other finishes, repairing drywall, disassembling and reassembling equipment, repairing or replacing plumbing fixtures, and applying finish materials.
  • Transports equipment, furniture and supplies manually and/or using aides such as dollies and carts. Operates a motor vehicle to pick up and move goods and supplies.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum 2 years of construction experience
  • Must have hands on experience in carpentry and interior work
  • Experience in concrete and exterior work is a plus.
  • Ability to install flooring materials.
  • Experience replacing windows and doors, working with both metal and wood.
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possesses a strong environmental, health, and safety mindset.
  • Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
  • Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency callouts as they arise.
  • Must strictly adhere to Health and Safety policies including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Physically fit, Able to regularly lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • High school diploma plus trades training and/or certification or licensing is an asset.
  • Hold a valid driver's license with clean abstract.
