Provides a markets-based suite of sales and trading solutions to Institutional, Corporate, and Retail clients. Manages people and leads a team capable of delivering the desired business results
Operates as key member of the Environmental Commodities team with efforts to maximize sector penetration and returns
Institutes One Client initiatives to increase BMO's relevance with clients
Uses expertise in financial & environmental commodities markets to cultivate relationships with new and existing clients, develop new client relationships and win business
Manages compliance and voluntary carbon markets portfolios and is accountable for the risk, profit & loss and limits for the same
Supports sales activities with strategies, and market information customized to suit client needs; will accompany sales team members to assist with client calls, presentations, and seminars
Develops and maintains strong client relationships with decision makers and provides clients with impactful strategic advice
Recognizes opportunities to cross-sell and to grow BMO share of client wallet
Partner with Sales to develops marketing ideas and help initiate transactions through appropriate presentation of financial data
Maintains strong relationships with investor client, understands their portfolio, and matches the firm services and products to client needs
Works closely with sales and research teams to provide seamless client coverage including fulfilling client requests for market updates and providing clients with specific product information
Develops and/or facilitates development of client-focused solutions based on financial expertise, organizational, technical, regulatory and environmental client awareness
Responds to inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community in a professional manner and determine acceptable solutions
Distills market and internal data to negotiate solutions, terms and conditions with clients / internal counterparts
Verifies that all confirms on executed trades are accurate and promptly delivered
Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor
Reads, analyzes and interprets common technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents in order to better serve client needs
Maintains a future-oriented focus, possesses organizational, industry, and competitive knowledge and effects business results and through innovative practices
Recommends business priorities, advises on resource requirements and develops roadmap for strategic execution of environmental commodities trading initiatives
Uses analytical skills (probability, statistical inference, etc.) and applies appropriate technical concepts and completes/leads consistent and reliable technical and financial reports/analyses to support client deliverables
Develops an understanding of and proficiency in using all required systems and models
Ability to lead the development of robust pricing, analytical, and risk management infrastructure, including close interaction with model development teams, in the furtherance of the environmental commodities business
Leads change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
Understands the complexity of transactions and related risks (credit, market, operational, legal / compliance, etc.)
Operates within position and loss limits as prudent management of the Bank's exposure
Manages firm's environmental commodities risks and takes action to reduce exposure in developing and delivering client strategies including the development of hedging and trading strategies
Balances the Bank's risk appetite with the client needs in making recommendations/proposal
Identifies and acts on the delivery of meaningful revenue, cost reduction or capital optimization opportunities
Makes decisions based on a strong understanding of risks; effectively evaluates risk-return trade-offs, and proactively takes accountability for risks assumed
Considers risk, internal controls and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities and adheres to policies and procedures
Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to multiple, interdependent, complex problems
Communicates abstract concepts in simple terms
Anticipates trends and responds by implementing appropriate changes.
Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Degree in Accounting/Economics/Mathematics/Statistics, CFA preferred
Thorough knowledge of capital markets, pricing, and trading/hedging strategies and familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures
Strong understanding of trading procedures and broader regulatory and financial concepts
Strong quantitative analysis, technology and financial analysis skills
Strong risk management skills, fundamental analysis skills and leadership abilities
Seasoned expert with extensive industry knowledge

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
