The TMX Group, Datalinx team is searching for a highly motivated and results-oriented Head of Wealth Management Data Sales to drive revenue growth by ensuring we're meeting the needs of our current client base in addition to securing new business and expanding our client base! This role will focus on defending the revenue within Canada in addition to acquiring new clients in the US, Europe and Asia. The role will ideally be based in Toronto.
Reporting to the Global Head of Datalinx Sales, you will play a meaningful role in promoting our full product suite, with a specific emphasis on solutions tailored for the Wealth Management function. This includes:
Real-time and delayed market data feeds: Providing clients with access to high-quality, real time data from the TSX, TSX Venture, Alpha, and Montreal exchanges.
Real-time subscriber data: Providing clients with subscriber access within their Full Service and Discount Brokerage platforms. The role requires collaboration with the Product Team to formulate and offer enterprise agreements that provide cost certainty and savings to these Wealth Management Firms.
Advanced analytics: Delivering sophisticated tools for data analysis and informed decision-making.
Alternative data sets: Expanding client capabilities with unique data sources, such as our Global Corporate Event data.
Key Accountabilities:
Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed assigned revenue targets.
This strategic sales plan will include the definition of the Total Addressable Market along with the tactics to create awareness and foster interest in the applicable Datalinx product offerings. This includes: marketing, direct outreach, leveraging other Business Units, providing tools to the Sales Account Managers to foster interest within their account base, and more.
Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing accounts and across the global addressable market.
Build out an accurate and diversified pipeline of 2.5X target for the Wealth Management Data Sales Mandate, incorporating all applicable product lines across both the existing Datalinx client base and beyond to include the total addressable market.
Cultivate positive relationships with key decision-makers within target client segments, including Executives and Product Managers within both Full and Discount Brokerage firms globally.
Conduct in-depth needs analysis to understand client challenges and propose tailored solutions leveraging the TMX Datalinx product suite.
Possess a deep understanding of the Wealth Management space and effectively articulate TMX Datalinx value proposition to clients.
Maintain strong market knowledge and share valuable insights with clients, including thought leadership and product updates.
Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure, sometimes in collaboration with the Sales Account Manager where applicable.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across TMX Group, including the Equities and Derivatives Trading business lines, Product Management, and Sales Enablement.
Represent TMX Datalinx at industry conferences and events to generate leads and build brand awareness.
Must haves:
Post-secondary degree in Business, Technology, or a related field
10+ years of shown success in selling market data solutions to Wealth Management clients
Consistent achievement of sales targets and key performance indicators
Active engagement within the Wealth Management community with a deep understanding of the market data needs and challenges of the business
Strong existing relationships within the target market
Adaptable to navigate complex sales cycles and extensive knowledge of client needs
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Self-reliant while being an encouraging and collaborative team player
Trusted advisor; building positive relationships with clients
Effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
Note: Hybrid role - 2 to 3 days in the Toronto office
