We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java EE, web development, and database technologies, along with a passion for leading development projects and mentoring junior team members. As a Lead Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex web-based applications while ensuring performance, scalability, and security.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of web applications using Java EE 1.8, JSP, Struts, and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for DB2 and Oracle databases.
  • Develop and maintain SOAP and REST web services for seamless integration with external systems.
  • Manage and troubleshoot applications on WebSphere application server.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Ensure application performance, scalability, and security best practices are followed.
  • Conduct code reviews, maintain coding standards, and ensure the delivery of robust software solutions.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Strong experience with Java EE 1.8, JSP, and Struts.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and front-end web technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and hands-on experience with DB2 and Oracle databases.
  • Familiarity with basic Unix Shell scripting for automation and system management.
  • Expertise in developing and consuming SOAP and REST web services.
  • Hands-on experience with WebSphere application server
  • Excellent communication skills to varying audiences including executive leadership and non-technical resources.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and development.
  • Familiarity with Kafka for messaging and stream processing.
  • Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools like Dynatrace and Splunk.
  • Experience with JDK 17 and modern Java development practices
