Reporting to the Manager, Equity, Inclusion, Diversity, and Anti-Racism, the Lead, Health Equity and Priority Populations (EIDAR) plays an essential role leading the development, planning and implementation of projects and initiatives within Ontario Health. This role will lead new and existing initiatives to support the implementation of the Equity, Inclusion, Diversity, and Anti-Racism framework at Ontario Health.
Here is what you will be doing:
Builds and sustains professional and collaborative internal and external relationships to advance projects and strategic initiatives
Coordinates and conducts analysis of local health-care system based on provincial data, community input and other sources for purpose of identifying gaps and establishing planning priorities
Facilitates engagement and collaboration with community partners to advance work plans that align with provincial priorities and the OH Equity, Inclusion, Diversity and Anti-Racism strategy
Works in collaboration with staff across business units to reduce access barriers and improve health system navigation and health outcomes for people from equity-deserving communities
Promotes high-quality research and planning and provides leadership to the development of methodologies in the profession of health planning, considering the unique experiences of under-served and under-represented groups of patients and community members
Conducts effective partner consultation through ongoing engagement and co-design approaches related to planning, where intended outcomes are to advance recommendations, including for health care system funding plans
Provides leadership for the development of a culture within Ontario Health that reflects the role to drive service coordination provincially
Prepares provincial reports and briefing notes, based on analysis of relevant data, develops spreadsheets, presentations and other documents as appropriate
Leads and manages project plans and budget allocation for planning, design and implementation initiatives
Understands and complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and the organization's health and safety practices, policies, and procedures
Contributes to a culture of patient safety, which includes respect, accountability, and open communication in a psychologically safe environment
Promotes equity, inclusion, diversity and anti-racism (EIDA-R), both internally (via policies, processes and practices) and externally (i.e., via promoting equitable programs and services)
Supports evaluation activities by helping to develop key performance indicators, deliverables and reporting requirements to track, measure and assess the impact of various program initiatives
Leads the development and execution of work plans (including effectively tracking project milestones, risks, and status)
Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met on time and that deliverables meet quality expectations and standards
Supports teams to ensure health service provider and service provider organization adherence to health service accountability agreements by coordinating regional funding allocations and issuing SAA amendment letters
Coordinates and fosters initiatives which improve service quality

Here is what you will be doing:
Education and Experience
Post-secondary education (master's level preferred) in health administration, population health, public health, business administration or a related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
Minimum 5 years' experience working in the Ontario health care system, ideally with focus on population health, and with understanding of the current and changing dynamics and issues
Knowledge of anti-racism, anti-oppression, equity, inclusion and diversity frameworks
Understanding and experience with embedding quality improvement initiatives
Demonstrated experience supporting the development and implementation of provincial strategic plans with health equity embedded
Excellent knowledge of and proven ability to apply multiple planning and analysis methodologies to make effective recommendations
Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism with a solid understanding of financial controls
Proven ability to build, enhance and maintain strategic relationships with diverse stakeholders (e.g., health service providers, clinicians, the public, local and provincial governments) and to work in a variety of team situations is required

Knowledge and Skills
Exceptional knowledge of key health equity concepts, issues and trends (including knowledge of EIDA-R and anti-oppression practices) to identify challenges and opportunities to support planning, strategy development and implementation
Strong understanding of service delivery needs and health concerns of equity-deserving communities across Ontario
Foundational knowledge and understanding of Ontario's health system, including current public health issues, relevant legislation, programs, stakeholders, and a solid understanding of the social determinants of health
Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and maintain a broad systems view, with the ability to translate broad goals into detailed strategic and operational plans
Must be highly organized with ability to gather, critically analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources to inform health planning and to guide evidence-based decision making
Highly developed project management skills (related to planning, development and implementation) with proven experience successfully leading and completing multiple projects concurrently
Excellent written communication skills (including experience preparing reports, proposals and presentations for senior leaders) and strong verbal communication skills when addressing individuals across all levels of Ontario Health and liaising with the Ministry of Health
Effective interpersonal and relationship management skills, including the ability to build trust when working with cross functional teams and to work with a variety of partners to influence project outcomes
Self -directed and takes initiative, able to work well both independently and collaboratively as a team player with a variety of staff/partners
Exceptional organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deliverables on schedule with high quality results
Thrives in an environment of ambiguity with tight deadlines, demonstrates excellent judgment and ability to set priorities, to help manage competing workload demands
Skilled problem-solver; identifies issues, and outlines structured approaches to determine and execute viable solutions
Proficiency and strong technical abilities in MS Office Suite skills (in particular Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint and Teams)
