What is the opportunity?
In support of RBC's commitment to maintaining an effective enterprise AML Program, the AML Tuning & Optimization Analyst will support the ongoing refinement and enhancement of AML detection rules to improve effectiveness and efficiency. This role will be responsible for collecting relevant data, conducting in-depth analysis of rule tuning outcomes, identifying areas for optimization, and documenting all findings and recommendations to ensure a structured and well-documented decision-making process.
What will you do?
Gather relevant data, reports, and system outputs necessary for AML rule tuning analysis.
Conduct validation checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness before analysis.
Perform analysis of rule tuning outcomes to assess detection effectiveness and efficiency.
Identify patterns, anomalies, and potential gaps in existing AML detection rules.
Evaluate false positive/negative rates and recommend adjustments to enhance rule performance.
Provide data-driven insights on rule adjustments and potential enhancements.
Collaborate closely with Senior Manager and other stakeholders to align AML tuning strategies with business needs.
Stay informed of regulatory developments and industry best practices in AML rule tuning
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.
Hands-on experience with SQL and Python for data analysis, querying, and automation.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have
Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Science, or a related field.
Familiarity with machine learning or data science techniques.
