What is the opportunity?

As Manager, Amplify Program, you will play a critical role in the experience and success of the Amplify Program, RBC's intensive summer innovation program for students (learn more on the Amplify website. The Amplify Program Team strives to deliver exceptional talent and innovation results for RBC - you will play a central role in contributing to these results while ensuring we continue to deliver a top-of-industry talent program.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Amplify Program, this role offers a unique opportunity to manage major program components alongside a high performing team. You will own a large portion of the student experience portfolio including recruitment, training and curriculum, day-to-day program management, and planning the final culminating 3-day event - AmpExpo - attended by the highest levels of seniority at RBC. You will also play a critical role in data gathering and providing insights as we look to innovate on the program year over year.

What will you do?

  • Oversee and execute day-to-day program management, prioritizing several work streams including communications, event planning/execution, budget management, and detailed tracking/documentation
  • Manage, in partnership with Recruitment, a large-scale, high volume recruitment effort, coordinating many stakeholders/components to identify, hire and onboard 70+ students with diverse skills
  • In the summer (May to August), lead and support a group of high performing students with day-to-day management, focusing on providing an exceptional student experience
  • Partner and execute on several program events end-to-end, including recruitment events, orientation day, various program events, and large-scale AmpExpo event in August (e.g., strategy, communications, presentations, tracking, and execution plan).
  • Contribute to the development of program strategy/execution plans, including data gathering and regularly providing insights to leadership to improve the program
  • Design, plan, and execute training components of the program including a 4-day bootcamp, technical training week and ongoing workshops throughout the summer
  • People management of the Communication Analyst Co-op (8 month), guiding day-to-day management and performance tracking

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • 2 - 5 years' experience in program management, events and students experience
  • Driven, results-focused with meticulous organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Passion and proven experience in delivering exceptional experiences, especially with students
  • Experience thinking strategically and delivering on mid to large scale projects that have high impact on overall outcomes
  • Experience with planning and managing large scale events with diverse audiences, multiple moving pieces and leading a committee of people
  • Experience with strategic communications planning and execution
  • Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Creative and positive attitude! Not afraid to think outside the box and solve problems innovatively
  • Ability to think critically, using data/metrics to provide insights
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of MS Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
