Global Technology Services (GTS) is one of the foundational divisions of TMX organization that empowers internal TMX business lines for their technology needs, operations and digital innovation. GTS as a client centric organization focuses on building technology capabilities, enabling our clients with the best technology solutions and providing effective technology financial and resource management processes. The cost effective operation is a key attribute of the GTS execution. GTS is responsible for delivery of all technology initiatives and services across TMX.

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineering Leader to join its growing practice around Cloud, Infrastructure Services, DevOps and EVERYTHING as Code.

This is a multidisciplinary systems engineering position within our enterprise engineering team supporting continued growth and success within our various business lines. The focus will be on providing technical leadership, maintaining high standards, solving complex problems with innovative solutions leveraging cloud technologies and modern code development practices to manage infrastructure services and to automate processes.

This role reports to Director, Cloud Technology.

Key Accountabilities:

• Management of a diverse team across operations and a project delivery

• Advocate for and drive the adoption of cloud technology.

• Develop, manage and maintain hybrid cloud platforms and services to enable innovation and responsible use throughout the organization.

• Guide initiatives from ideation through to technical delivery and operational state with a deep commitment to quality and delighting stakeholders and consumers.

• Provide escalation support and production support.

• Provide mentorship, peer review and code review.

• Deliver well architected, highly available and scalable infrastructure as code.

• Participate in planning and retrospective sessions.

• Lead technical workshops and presentations, and provide training to various technical and non-technical business stakeholders

• Identify opportunities to enhance productivity and performance using automation

• Develop technical and architectural documentation.

• Participate in on-call rotation providing after-hours support for critical workloads.

• Apply your enthusiasm for cloud transformation and technology to a culture of innovation driven by experimentation.

Must haves:

• 10+ years Infrastructure/Cloud management experience

• 3+ years of people management experience with medium to large teams

• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills - can communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical humans

• Experience architecting and deploying complex distributed solutions in the cloud ( IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS)

• Experienced in design, development, and maintenance of mission critical distributed systems

• AWS Experience

• AWS professional certification.

• Experience with GCP

• Practical experience designing and operating systems leveraging big data frameworks. Experience with on-prem virtualization solutions (VMWare, HyperV, OpenShift)

• A strong background in coding, scripting and CI/CD with working knowledge in at least two programming languages, such as Java, PHP, Python, Ruby on Rails, or Perl

• Ability to quickly identify issues and performance bottlenecks.

• Familiarity with application and systems performance monitoring, data visualization and logging tools.

• Experience using orchestration tools.

• An inherent desire to automate everything.

Nice to haves:

• CISSP, CCSP or security related certifications

• Additional cloud certification

• Project management experience
