Job Description:

The Compliance PMO team in Global Compliance is responsible for supporting strategy development, business planning, performance metrics, Compliance technology support and lead the management of material compliance projects - a priority given the evolution and profile of the Compliance function.

The Manager, Compliance Technology, Global Compliance position is accountable for the project management of technology projects and support of Compliance technology based on criteria that align with the vision of the Global Compliance function. The position would support the project planning, communication updates and analysis for all assigned projects. The role will support the Director, Compliance Technology Operations to achieve GRC and AML technology integration within Compliance in four aspects: vision execution, operational alignment, technology implementation oversight, and change management..

What will you do?

  • The role works with Digital Business and Technology Services and Compliance stakeholders to assess and prioritize business enhancements for implementation to the AML system and GRC system

  • Perform in depth business systems analysis of the GRC system to documented business enhancements and provide technical guidance for deployment of the enhancements

  • Work with the appropriate stakeholders to complete an impact analysis of requested GRC enhancements and document analysis results

  • Adopt a digital mindset to analyze and challenge current processes and drive outcomes by working with technical experts to realize benefits from AML and GRC system optimization

  • The incumbent will be accountable for driving process improvements to ensure the AML system and GRC System controls are maintained and updated for impacts

  • Work with the Director, Compliance Technology and persons in Global Compliance and Sun Life Compliance teams to support upcoming Compliance technology need

  • Manage all phases of Compliance projects from initiation to closure while leveraging Project Management best practice and standards

  • Work with cross-functional team, setting up and organizing meetings to work with all stakeholders

  • Deliver on timelines and documentation needed for each deal, including search and follow up on key due diligence documentation

  • Assist in the development of various presentations to the executive team

What do you need to succeed?

  • Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance Management framework components and linkages

  • Exceptional project management capabilities with demonstrated experience managing dispersed and indirect resources

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize

  • Proven experience managing large, complex projects

  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Ability to operate and succeed in an abstract and fast changing environment

  • Calm and professional under difficult or changing circumstances

  • Communicates effectively to a wide variety of audiences at all organizational levels

  • Direct experience in the execution of regulatory compliance projects

  • Good understanding of the financial services industry and related regulatory regime

Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of Compliance work experience, including 3 years of work experience managing multiple and complex projects and timelines

  • Education, professional certification or designation in Project Management, Risk, Compliance, or Audit

  • Working knowledge of key GRC or AML systems

  • The role requires the candidate to have a presence with senior management, including strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage and track progress across multiple initiatives with competing timelines

  • Good facilitation and influence skills to direct effective meetings

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
