Who We Are
You will be responsible for the consolidation of monthly and quarterly financial results for internal and external consolidated reporting. This will include leading a team for executing consolidation entries, intercompany eliminations at the consolidated level and liaise with other accounting departments team members to ensure the execution of a clean and efficient consolidation process.
You will also be responsible for timely reporting of the Corporate Function expenses and centralized expenses such as bonus and benefit expenses.
Ensure consolidated results are in compliance with IFRS and provide accurate and timely reports and analysis to Senior Management on a monthly and quarterly basis using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
Review month-end and quarter-end corporate journal entries, account reconciliations, and consolidation entries in HFM
Review intercompany eliminations and coordinate with business units across organization to clear variances
Review monthly corporate expense analysis
Ensure compliance with CEO/CFO Certification requirements
Ensure the accurate execution of HFM in line with accounting policy
Liaise with other groups within Finance (FP&A, Accounting, Tax, Treasury) to respond to corporate close and consolidation specific inquiries as required
Manage and develop three direct reports to maximize performance of the team
Participate in ad hoc projects, analysis, and preparation of reports for senior management as requested
Review Statistics Canada reports
What you bring
University degree in Finance, Accounting, or business related discipline
Accounting designation (CPA) , CA (from other countries )
5+ years of relevant experience in industry or public accounting
2+ years of managerial experience with direct reports
Solid working knowledge of consolidation principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is an asset
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to successfully lead other team members team and deliver results through the work of others
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), HFM (an asset) and PeopleSoft (an asset)
Team spirit and commitment to continuous quality improvement
