Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of IB Internal Controls by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Specifically, the incumbent supports the governance of the IB Conduct Risk Program, including the definition and establishment of guidelines, procedures, and management controls, aligned with the Enterprise framework within International Banking.

The incumbent supports and coordinates interdisciplinary working teams to identify divisional systemic issues related to conduct risk and sales practices and defines with stakeholder's action plans to reduce or mitigate sales practices risks.

What You'll Do:

  • Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Responsible and active participant in the development, documentation, and communication of the IB Sales Practices Management Program, including divisional policies and procedures in alignment with the Enterprise Sales Conduct Framework.
  • Collaborates with leadership in the development and management of the department's operating budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Supports the creation of materials related to Sales Practices, prepares program status updates and reporting for IB Senior Management, IB and Enterprise Risk Culture and Conduct Risk Steering Committee and IB Compliance and Operational Risk Committee.
  • Analyzes Conduct Risk KRIs from different business lines and countries to identify potential themes and identifies with related stakeholder's potential issues and action plans to address these trends.
  • Supports the development of tools for Internal Control to consolidate and analyze conduct risk indicators leveraging Power BI and other data mining and visualization software. Ensures metrics are communicated to local Internal Control teams for their review and analysis.
  • Manages the issues related to Conduct Risk from testing reviews, audits or self-assessments and monitors the advances of action plans until closure. Identifies potential common themes to propose Divisional action plans.
  • Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance.

What You'll Bring:

  • Ability to operate in a high performing, flexible environment
  • Post-secondary education with relevant experience in the financial services industry, preferably within a business line, regulatory compliance, operations, technology, audit or risk management function
  • Knowledge of banking regulations, products & services, technology and operations in an international setting
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, and a result oriented and data driven approach in decision making
  • Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish
  • Experience in budget management, financial analysis, and reporting
  • Experience with providing insights to and interacting with the business
  • Experience using analytics to identify areas of risk and opportunities for improvement
