Purpose:

Contributes to the overall success of the Global Business Payment Product Portfolio in Canada by identifying new revenue streams, sizing new initiatives, addressing current product gaps, and finding cross product synergies. Ensures specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

What You'll Do:

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Optimize the profitability of GBM's product portfolio by analyzing, designing, and recommending strategies in conjunction with product owners and cross functional partners.
  • Work with the pricing and analytic teams to drive revenues and identify efficiencies.
  • Assessing the economic and financial feasibility of new product opportunities, ensuring a reasonable rate of return for services sold, provide sound competitive position, and making compelling recommendations.
  • Build data-driven, scenario-based models to evaluate business impact on strategic and business development initiatives and monitor key portfolio KPIs.
  • Developing business cases and supporting presentations for identified opportunities, that support the growth and maintenance of the business.
  • Research, analyze, and synthesize data, trends, leading practices, and other business intelligence in support of business plans.
  • Assist in the development of business cases and strategic plans for new initiatives to optimize revenue opportunities.
  • Lead the consolidated forecasting and planning cycles on behalf of product owners and ensure the product roadmap is accurately represented.
  • Identify product gaps with respect to customer needs, competitive offerings, and trends.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial summaries for cross-portfolio product team and Sr. Leadership.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.

What You'll Bring:

  • 3-5 years experience with an undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or Economics. Graduate degree or financial designation is preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Power BI, SQL, MS Excel.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, including the ability to build and analyze complex financial models.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools such as Power BI, to source large data sets and apply complex transformation to produce key business insights and support business decision making.
  • Expertise in SQL, including the ability to extract data from multiple sources such as data warehouses, data lakes, and relational databases.
  • Strong decision making, forward thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Results oriented and innovative in identifying and pursuing opportunities to leverage capabilities to increase revenues, decrease costs, and mitigate risks.
  • Experience in Cash Management and Payments industry, or In-depth. understanding of delivery networks of financial products and services within the context of the Bank's sales and service strategies across the various delivery channels is an asset.
  • Experience working on large projects using industry-standard delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile/Scrum/Kanban) and tools (JIRA/Confluence) is an asset.
