The Multi-Asset Solutions Team (MAST) is comprised of a diverse group of investment

professionals from various backgrounds and experience — providing diverse

thought and deep knowledge into all facets of their research. With disciplines in

macroeconomics, quantitative modeling, portfolio construction, and fundamental

analysis, this single functional team focuses on the science and art of asset allocation

to solve problems with custom investment solutions. The team manages approximately C$75 billion covering over 140 investment mandates for retail and institutional clients.

The Portfolio Manager will be a key individual on the Multi-Asset Solutions team, helping to drive strong risk adjusted returns across the various portfolios.

The ideal candidate has a very collaborative approach with a strong background in macroeconomics, understanding of global asset classes, strong technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and can mentor individuals.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring domestic & international economic and political trends for potential impact on the fundamentals and performance of the capital markets and strategies.
  • Manage, evaluate and monitor performance of the designated portfolios in alignment with investment objectives and client parameters.
  • Executes various portfolio management requirements including, but not limited to: trading and execution, regular economic commentaries, rebalancing, asset allocation, risk management, idea generation, product engineering, and interacting with market participants.
  • Contributes to business development in client and industry facing activities and events.
  • Collaborating, sharing information and insights across the investment teams
  • Providing mentorship to more junior members of the team
  • Adhering to all compliance, regulatory and legal guidelines

Competencies:

  • 10+ years of industry experience in top-down portfolio construction/portfolio management
  • Established track record of providing strong investment performance and effective risk management.
  • Meet the requirement of an Advising Representative (OSC)
  • Strong multi-asset class knowledge
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Charles River, and FactSet
  • Experience in the use of derivatives
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong collaborator
  • Undergraduate degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or similar discipline
  • CFA Charterholder

Salary:

$117,600.00 - $218,400.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
