We are looking for a Property and Maintenance Specialist to support our business growth in Toronto. The Property and Maintenance Specialist will oversee the tasks in managing tenant relations and property maintenance for the various rental properties of the company. This hybrid role combines tenant relations, administrative responsibilities, and hands-on maintenance work to ensure the smooth operation of a portfolio of approximately two dozen detached residential houses. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and capable of balancing interpersonal and technical skills.

How you will contribute:

  • Tenant Relations:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants, addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly.
    • Coordinate move-ins and move-outs, including inspections, documentation, and tenant orientations.
  • Rent Collection & Tenancy Management:
    • Manage rent collection, issue receipts, and follow up on late payments in accordance with company policies and tenancy laws.
    • Maintain accurate tenant records and lease agreements.
    • Stay informed about residential tenancy laws to ensure compliance in all property management practices.
  • Building Repairs and Maintenance:
    • Schedule and oversee regular inspections and preventive maintenance for all properties.
    • Coordinate with contractors for major repairs and renovations.
    • Perform minor repairs, such as plumbing, electrical fixes, and appliance maintenance.
  • Hands-On Maintenance Work:
    • Conduct basic cleaning, landscaping, and upkeep of common areas as required.
    • Ensure properties meet safety standards and are in good condition.


What you bring to the table:

  • Proven experience in property management or a related field.
  • Experience managing detached residential houses is an asset
  • Strong understanding of residential tenancy laws in Ontario.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Comfortable performing hands-on maintenance tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple properties and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency with property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Trade certifications in plumbing, electrical, or carpentry are an asset.

Office Location and Working Hours: Leslie Street Office, Mon to Fri 900am to 530pm.
