Risk Analyst, HR

What is the opportunity?

Risk Analyst within the HR Operational Risk & Compliance Team, as a part of the Operational Excellence CoE. In this role you will assist in executing Operational Risk Management requirements on behalf of RBC's Human Resources (HR) Function, ensuring ongoing adherence to RBC Risk Management Policies & Standards. The execution of Operational Risk Management program is performed in partnership with global HR partners across the Function's operating model as well with Group Risk Management and Risk Area Centres of Governance. Assists or participates in developing and implementing risk management frameworks to better manage, measure, monitor, and report on global risk exposures.

What will you do?

• Execute on RBC's risk management requirements on behalf of the HR Function, ensuring ongoing adherence to RBC's risk management Policies and Standards.

• Conduct risk assessments for HR, ensuring operational risk management standards are met including assessing the business environment and risk impacts, identifying, and reporting operational risks, understanding the control framework, and identifying any control gaps.

• Responsible for risk event data collection and identification of control gaps to solve operational risk exposures.

• Support investigation (deep dive analysis) of large loss events and incidents to assess potential systemic weaknesses.

• Identify, document, and monitor key risk indicators (KRI), challenge the sufficiency and reasonableness of KRI's to track key risk exposures.

• Analyze the design and operating effectiveness of HR's key operational risks and controls.

• Curate data insights for senior HR leadership audience, expanding data analytics capabilities to enhance risk management practices.

• Partner with 2nd Line of Defense partners in Group Risk Management to drive risk management insights.

• Ability to assess and respond quickly to change in priorities with a continuous improvement mindset.

• Maturity level and skill/judgement to be able to deal effectively with senior leaders within HR.

• Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and stakeholder relationship management.

• Problem solving, analytical (including qualitative analysis), research, and quantitative skills.

• Technologically self-sufficient. Highly proficient in MS Office.

Nice to Have:

• Working knowledge of industry Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) solutions/packages (e.g., Archer, RegComp).

• Relevant Operational Risk Management experience, delivering risk-management specific programs.
