Eligibility Note: To qualify for a student (Co-op/Internship) opportunity, students must be enrolled in their academic studies at a post-secondary institution (university/college) and must be returning to school after completion of their work term with QuadReal. If you are a student registered in an official co-op program at your post-secondary institution and completion of a final work term is a mandatory component for you to graduate, you are eligible to apply with the understanding that you will leave QuadReal at the end of your work term or have the possibility to be considered for full-time opportunities.
Based in Toronto, the Co-op/Intern, Risk and Compliance, will report to the Manager, Risk, Compliance and Audit. As an integral member of both the Internal Audit and ERM and Compliance teams, the successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the performance of risk assessment, participating in the delivery of internal audits and risk mitigation projects, as well as for the testing of internal controls. We are looking for a candidate with strong financial acumen, demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy, a positive attitude, excellent time management and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities to meet strict deadlines.

What You Will Experience:
Risk Management support
Support the digital transformation of risk management through the implementation of a full scope GRC platform.
Support the delivery of risk identification and monitoring projects.
Support the development of risk frameworks designed to analyze, report, and track operational risks.
Support the drafting of reports, policies, procedures, and standards to ensure industry standards and regulations are met or exceeded.
Conduct risk analyses and identify internal and external risk trends.
Corporate Compliance support
Support the drafting of reports, policies, procedures, and standards to ensure industry standards and regulations are met or exceeded.
Support the provision and execution of compliance plans/initiatives to ensure that operations of QuadReal comply with the relevant policies and regulations.
Support compliance reviews on relevant procedures and documents.
Assist with the design and delivery of training programs in connection with compliance and policy matters.
Support day-to-day activities, including regulatory research, data privacy and anti-money laundering programs, drafting reports, presenting findings, and other departmental projects.
Corporate Internal Audit support
Provide input into the design of audit objectives, logistics, schedule, and scope
Support the execution of risk-based operational, financial, regulatory, and compliance audits
Perform special projects, including advisory assignments
Support the design and evaluation of internal controls and operating practices
Support the performance of benchmarking analysis
Support the drafting of audit reports and related management reports
Support follow up on prior audit findings
What You Will Bring:
Interest in pursuing a professional auditing, accounting, or compliance related designation (CPA/CIA/CFE/CMA/CISA/CISSP). Pursing a bachelor's degree in business preferred
Strong quantitative and analytical skills; detail-oriented and proficient in reading and interpreting raw data. Ability to synthesize disparate qualitative information into a cohesive narrative and summary. Ability to exercise a high level of integrity in all business transactions
Excellent communication and presentation skills; demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate and present results that articulate key themes and messages.
Must be able to allocate time effectively and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and change. Comfortable following direction but also contributing to the direction.
Must have advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word; knowledge of Power BI is an asset.
Must be extremely proactive and work well in a collaborative environment, with the ability to take guidance but then move projects forward independently.
