Career Opportunity

We have an important opportunity in our Audit, Risk, and Compliance Department. We are currently hiring for a Senior Advisor, Audit, Risk and Compliance.

What You Will Do

As the Senior Advisor, Audit, Risk and Compliance you will facilitate the implementation of an enterprise risk management (ERM) function at the TTC. This includes providing expertise and guidance to the TTC's ERM framework. This will ensure key enterprise risks are identified, assessed, evaluated, monitored, and reported regularly to the Audit and Risk Management Committee (ARMC).

Your key responsibilities include reporting of enterprise risks while driving continual improvement in the TTC's governance, risk management, and internal control systems. You will apply your risk assessment expertise to identify, assess, and prioritize key enterprise risks and provide guidance to Risk Owners.


As the Senior Advisor, Audit, Risk and Compliance you stay current with professional standards and research transit industry trends by meeting ongoing continuing professional development and training requirements and contributing to improving departmental processes.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

  • Education in Risk Management, Accounting/Auditing, Business, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Data Management/Sciences, or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
  • Several years of experience in enterprise risk management, auditing, project management, and/or data analysis, with exposure to various business processes, governance, risk management, and control processes.
  • Experience supporting the implementation of risk management frameworks and facilitating risk assessments, including identifying areas for risk reduction and options such as risk avoidance, transfer, mitigation, and acceptance.
  • Experience in identifying, analyzing, evaluating, treating, monitoring, and reporting risks to senior leadership and governing stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in applying various risk assessment methodologies (e.g., Risk and Control Self-Assessment, Bowtie, HIRA, Fault-Tree) and related risk management practices, including risk model analysis and use of analytic tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and other visualization, business intelligence, and database tools (e.g., SQL).
  • Experience applying ISO 31000 and/or COSO ERM Framework
  • Professional designation/certifications such as Canadian Risk Management (CRM) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Data Analyst (CDA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or Certified Data Analyst (CDA) etc. is an asset.
  • Experience in a transit agency, government agency, or large public accounting firm is an asset.
