Purpose

Join the Global Community of Scotiabankers to help customers. Position is responsible to maintain data extraction and transformation processes and reporting development for various AML workstreams which includes Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Transaction monitoring and Name Screening. In addition, the position is responsible to generate ad-hoc reports and analytics as well as executive reports.

Accountabilities
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Experience in Database programming: INSERT, DELETE, UPDATE, Store Procedures, Functions, Tables and Views
• Design and develop PLSQLs & ETLs to operationalize Key Performance Indicators (KPI), Key Risk Indicators (KRI) and Quality Indicators (QI) which support the tactical and strategic needs of our diverse business partners.
• Investigate discrepancies, reconcile source data, and manage metrics reports
• Assist to develop new, insightful reporting (Monthly and ad-hoc reports) and maintain existing reporting process
• Assist to analyze, create and maintain Excel / Power BI reports
• Develop and enhance visual dashboards to assist with ongoing assessment and development of continuous tracking for operational groups.
• Prepare detailed documentation to outline data sources, tools and results.
• Work collaboratively with both the team and senior management on larger projects.
• Support ad hoc analysis requests as required
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Education / Experience / Other Information
• University degree or equivalent, preferably with emphasis on statistics, business, computer science and/or mathematical curriculum
• < 1 years working experience
• Experience in AML disciplines; preferably with a focus on global activity would be nice to have
• Strong business process design and software skills to facilitate monitoring of AML performance
• Familiarity with advanced Excel functionality, and software languages such as SQL (ETL experience) and Python (nice to have)
• Experience with reporting tools such as SSRS, and Power BI or Tableau
• Experience with agile project management and risk prioritization would be nice to have
• Excellent writing, presentation, and analytical skills related to business operational needs
• Prior experience, organizational knowledge and leadership skills within a comparable team size or workload complexity
• Uses an analytical approach to problem solving, with a focus on managing a global team environment


Working Conditions
• Work in a standard office-based environmennt

The hybrid model operates one day a week from the office at 44 King Street, Toronto.
