As a Senior Business Process and Solutions Analyst, you will be responsible for support and development activities (coding and/or process changes) for applications/macros used by the Portfolio and Fund Administration teams. You will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and documenting "current state" (As Is) processes/functions and validating and updating existing documentation, to provide solutions to support business needs. You will also support 1832 Asset Management L.P.'s investment book of record system and other investment management systems (e.g., Charles River, SSCNet, CTM)

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Liaise with business team leaders to ensure objectives are clear
  • Ensure requirements are effectively documented
  • Provide guidance to business groups and vendors during requirements and design phases of project(s)
  • Ensure that solutions proposed meet business and user needs in terms of functionality and business process workflow
  • Support test phases as required
  • Support end user training
  • Lead in coding, debugging, and testing software enhancements within the business environment
  • Actively design, build, implement and support process changes
  • Execute unit testing on system change
  • Support the daily operations of the fund administration team and accounting systems including troubleshooting technical issues and identifying modifications required to support business user needs
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal business partners to understand their business needs, manage expectations, and assist in gap analysis
  • Coordinate and conduct walk-throughs of business specification documents with the Business owners for sign off and acceptance
  • Participate in user acceptance test documentation, sample generation, planning and executions
  • Ensure final product meets the business needs as outlined in the requirements documents
  • Identify process improvements to increase operational efficiencies and mitigate risk
  • Provide leadership, expertise, and guidance on good development practices
  • Actively participate in conference calls, meetings, and other communications with other stakeholders for various projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Degree and/or Diploma, preferably with a specialization in Finance, Business or Computer Science
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel and Access (VBA and functional usage) with good working knowledge of SQL and SQL Server applications
  • Experience with investment management industry concepts (or completion of CSC/IFIC courses) is an asset
  • Experience with Simcorp Dimension, Charles River, and SSCNet is an asset
  • Strong accounting knowledge is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment
  • Team-oriented and positive attitude
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • An ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills
