Job Description:

The Senior Information Security Analyst participates in the delivery of the Information Security Threat Management capability and corresponding services within the Digital Security Threat Management team. The role's primary mandate is to support the Vulnerability Management program which includes management of internal and external scanning processes and tracking and reporting vulnerabilities identified.

This role would ideally suit a candidate with previous vulnerability management or hands-on security technology experience in vulnerability management and scanning tools.

What you will do:

  • Monitor vulnerabilities with subsequent classification and investigation follow up.

  • Researching vulnerabilities/threats and writing technical and non-technical reports for management.

  • Report and manage information security vulnerabilities across both infrastructure and application environments.

  • Facilitate global security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability assessment programs.

  • Participates in the delivery of the Information Security Program, including Enterprise Vulnerability Management, Threat Management and Monitoring.

  • Support risk reporting and Security Program initiatives.

  • Explore opportunities to automate or enhance existing Vulnerability Management processes to align with the Digital Enterprise model.

What you need to succeed:

  • +5 years in IT/Information Security, preferably with experience in Vulnerability Management or core security technologies.

  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to peers and management.

  • Detailed Internet, networking, and computer knowledge (software & hardware).

  • Knowledge of multiple operating systems (Windows, Solaris, Linux) and cloud technology (AWS, Azure).

  • Basic knowledge of client-server applications, multi-tier web applications, relational databases, firewalls, VPNs, and enterprise cybersecurity products.

  • Knowledge of Information Security principles, protocols, practices and industry standards.

  • Understanding of existing and emerging cybersecurity technologies.

  • Good technology generalist, with a good understanding of all aspects of IT especially architecture.

  • Familiarity with the tools and techniques used by ethical hackers including vulnerability scanners and network mapping tools.

  • Experience with ServiceNow modules.

  • Experience with MS Office, MS SQL Server.

  • Professional designation relating to Information Security (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.) is an advantage but not mandatory.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
