Job Description:
As a trusted and proven investigator of the highest ethical standards, you'll independently assess, investigate and report on issues that pose risks to Sun Life as it relates to breaches of Sun Life's Code of Business Conduct, with an emphasis on financial crime (fraud). You'll join a small team that has a global scope and be exposed to a broad range of matters requiring varying degrees of investigation that must be conducted objectively and impartially.
It's essential to be a people person who is adept at communicating and collaborating with all levels of management for the often highly sensitive and confidential matters in question. As a Sun Life Corporate Investigator, you'll have privileged access to information more than most - with that comes greater responsibility.
What will you do?
Primary responsibility will be conducting internal misconduct investigations (predominantly within Canada, with the expectation that some domestic travel may be required - typically, Sun Life's main office locations - and international travel may be necessary on rare occasions).
Proactively identify risks and weaknesses; make suitable recommendations where possible.
Advise, guide and consult on matters as a subject matter expert of investigations and the business.
Support Sun Life's proactive approach to identifying misconduct and unethical behavior.
Undertake projects that are either self-generated or requested for business needs.
Remain current on fraudulent practices observed within Sun Life and throughout the industry, as well as investigation best practices.
What do you need to succeed?
A seasoned investigator, experienced in internal misconduct investigations.
A firm understanding of Sun Life's business and operations in Canada and globally.
Broad experience of financial crime that includes fraud investigations.
Adaptability and willingness to change.
An analytical mindset with an understanding of the importance of technology and data.
Fluency in French would be an asset but not mandatory.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
