Leads an effective communication strategy and works collaboratively to deliver a wide variety of communications to socialize large complex GHR changes as well as to meet ongoing, cyclical employee awareness needs. Responsible for developing and executing change management plans, working closely with internal Change team and external partners. Manages team of communication specialists to contribute to the overall success of Global HR goals and strategic objectives.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Develop and execute communication and awareness plans and tactics for high complexity change initiatives, working with other Senior Change Leads to maximize stakeholder engagement, and mitigate risks and anticipated points of resistance.
  • Lead low to moderate complexity change initiatives, ensuring coordination of training, communications, and change readiness activities to deliver the target employee experience and embed desired behaviours.
  • Serve as an important collaborator on the team by connecting the dots on employee communications to promote a consistent narrative and employee experience across key GHR Programs and projects.
  • Develop and implement a measurement strategy and metrics to measure and monitor impact of various communications tactics and channels to drive adoption and sustainment of change plans.
  • Provide strategic oversight and ownership of HR communication delivery channels.
  • Lead consultation and approval of all employee-facing HR systems interface and notifications language (Pega + EC), as well as HRSO standard response email templates
  • Lead and support executive team/ presenters in preparation of centralized employee engagement efforts through the design and delivery of GHRS communications and programs including strategic planning of department events (e.g. GHRS Town Halls and other ad hoc priority meetings as required)
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Curious with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong strategic capability. Thinks critically to evaluate broad impacts of work
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills with three to five years of experience developing and executing employee communications, working across digital, video and social platforms
  • Change management skills and experience
  • Knowledge of the bank's communications platforms and brand guidelines
  • Understands key metrics used to measure communication effectiveness
  • Ability to effectively consult with and influence stakeholders, subject matter experts, and senior leadership
  • Able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work independently within a deadline-driven environment
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective business relationships including comfort interacting with senior executives
